Director: Nicole Nothe
Nicole Nothe is a native of Bedford, Texas where she began studying dance at the age of five and served as Captain for the Trinity High School Troy-Ann Drill Team. Nicole attended Tyler Jr. College where she served as Head Dance Captain for the Apache Belles and performed at the Dallas Cowboys Halftime, St. Patrick’s Day Parade, and the Mayor’s Ball in Dublin, Ireland in 2000. Nicole went on to finish her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Dance and Physical Education from Texas Woman’s University graduating magna cum laude and performing for the TWU Ballet Folklorico Dance Company.
Nicole is dance certified by the Texas Education Agency and has taught Drill Team Training I-III, Dance I-IV, and Aerobics in high schools for sixteen years. She is the former director of the state champion, award-winning Sam Houston High School Tex-Anne Dance Team in Arlington, Texas from 2003-2008. Nicole served as the Red Rhythm assistant director and dance teacher at Liberty High School from 2008-2011. In 2011, Nicole was named the director of the Red Rhythm Dance Team. Since 2008, Red Rhythm has been awarded six grand championships, two overall grand championships, and sixteen award-winning choreography performances.
Nicole had the opportunity to expand her performance and dance education experience by working with American Dance/Drill Team Company, 3D Dance Studio, and DanceLine Productions. She was able to serve as a choreographer, adjudicator, and an instructor for Texas high school dance teams. Currently, Nicole works as a choreographer and adjudicator for local drill teams and dance studios and is a current member of the Texas Dance Educators Association.
Nicole believes in building a positive classroom environment for dance students where they can be inspired to grow into role models and leaders inside and outside of the classroom. Nicole and Chad have been married for eleven years. Chad works at Westlake Academy as a physical education teacher, high school varsity basketball and golf coach, and assistant athletic director. The Nothes have a son named Nash who enjoys fishing, play sports, and spending time the family’s red heeler cattle dog, Ginger.
Assistant Director: Sydney Mooty
Sydney Mooty grew up dancing at Footlights dance studio from a young age. She was a part of Footlights’s performing arts company and competitive teams through her senior year. She joined her high school drill team at Lewisville High school during freshman year. She was blessed to be both a Junior Lieutenant and Captain in her senior year.
From there she attended Kilgore College and received her Associate of arts in Dance Education. She was honored to be a World Famous Kilgore College Rangerette during those two years. Over the years she has been blessed to perform at many stadiums, and theaters, the World of Champions Contest in Disney World, the Basel Tattoo in Switzerland, and the opening of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City.
She then attended the University of North Texas where she was a North Texas Dancer. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Dance Education and is now the Assistant Dill Team Director at Liberty HS, and teaches and choreographs in the dance industry. She also is a part of the Danceline staff where she has the privilege to judge, choreograph, work camps, and travel to different high schools to teach dance.
She has also had the privilege to choreograph for local musicals both at Studio B and Trietsch United Memorial Methodist church. She is an instructor at Footlights Dance Studio in Flower Mound for six years in counting and teaches students of all ages and dance styles. She teaches and choreographs for competitive teams. With her passion for dance, and teaching she hopes to inspire and make a positive impact on those she works with.
